Forum Theme: Global Design Education in Next Decade
1982年，四合院的桂花树迎来了第一届“机械造型及工艺美术专业”本科生；40年间，我们历经了从工业造型设计系、工业设计系到成立设计艺术学院的几次嬗变，期间两次获得国家级教学成果一等奖；2022年，教育部研究生教育学科专业目录发布，设计学成为交叉学科中重要的创新力量。毫无疑问，在未来的10年，“设计学”将面临更重要的机遇与挑战，这也是全球“设计教育”需要共同思考的命题，无论是美国STEAM还是欧盟STARTS计划，都正在思考融合创新、数智赋能的“设计生态”构建方式。在喜迎二十大召开之际，我们邀请各国设计教育者展望未来10年的设计教育与学科发展思路，畅想全球设计教育的新形态。
In 1982, the osmanthus tree of Siheyuan welcomed the first undergraduate students majoring in Mechanical Modeling and Arts & Crafts. In the past 40 years, we have experienced several changes, namely the Department of Industrial Modeling Design, the Department of Industrial Design, and the School of Design. During this period, our school won the first prize of National Teaching Achievement twice. In 2022, the Ministry of Education released the Catalogue of Postgraduate Education Disciplines. “Design” has become an important innovative force in the interdisciplinary field. There is no doubt that in the next 10 years, “the disciplinary of design” will face more important opportunities and challenges for the global design education community. Both the STEAM program in the US and the STARTS program in the EU are addressing to such opportunities to build a new design ecology with integrated innovation and digital intelligence. We invite design educators from all over the world to share their thoughts on the next 10 years of design education, the development of the discipline, and to imagine a new form of global design education together.
我们希望把它组织成一个更紧凑和专注的交流方式，让每位学者在简短报告之后，有比较深入的圆桌讨论时间。我们愿这次对话为此时的我们带来一些思想与思考。热烈欢迎所有对此话题感兴趣的同学、教育者和设计行业的朋友们加入我们。
We would like to organize it in a more compact but dedicated way that each people will have a short presentation, then following with a concrete panel discussion. We hope the conversation could bring us some food for thought at this point. Welcome all students, educators, and friends from industries to join us.
